Orange Heron
Syd Glasso
Hook: Partridge Bartleet Supreme CS10/1 #2/0.
Tag: 5 turns medium silver oval tinsel.
Rib: medium flat silver tinsel, trailed by medium silver oval tinsel, with fine silver oval tinsel as a counter-rib.
Body: rear 2/3 orange uni-floss; front 1/3 yellow-orange SLF, using Syd Glasso's split floss method.
Hackle: natural blue eared pheasant, front 2/3 only, wound contrary to the rib, so the rib holds down the hackle.
Collar: guinea.
Wing: 4 hot orange hackle tips, 2 large inside, 2 smaller outside.
Head: red.
Note: A modern Pacific Northwest pattern, probably Syd Glasso's most famous pattern. Dec Hogan strips the lower half of the wing hackles for a lower wing look.
