Checking Property values

I thught I already sent this message before, but maybe not:

I have two questions for all you people who are better at writing BF's 
than I am(That shouldt be hard to find)

1) Is there a good tect file on all the nitty gitty things of writing bf's?

2) I am having  a problem finding out how to find the value of a property 
on an object.

Could someone help me here>?
