Possible memory leak in 1.7.9p2?

Well, at IdMOO we found something interesting.. one day our process size 
jumped about 10 megabytes.  We were testing a new server (1.7.9p2 plus a 
few goodies I stuck into it) so I got blamed, but we tracked it to this 
instead:
Someone owned an object whose name was a series of 1's and 0's, about 
300-500 characters.  One of our wizards was running match() on object 
names, using the regexp:   .*aphid.*
Boom, instant +10 megabytes process.
