mgetty oddity/problem

Yes, of course! I can't get it to you today 'cause I'm way too busy, but
tomorrow definitely.

What's *very* odd, though, is mgetty will answer the phone correctly if I
strace it!!! Like the uncertainty principle...

But when I login like this, with mgetty having run under strace, my input
is fine, but output from the remote system is very, very odd. For example,
a login prompt looks like:

"    g "

and if I do "echo foo", I get back:

" o \n"

And my prompt which is usually "theman:~>" is either ">" or nothing at all
when I dial in...

Isn't that bizarre? If you want me to do more tests let me know. I did a
perl -e 'print "ABC" x 10' which did something that I don't remember.

But I'll getcha a better logfile tomorrow with everything in it.
