mgetty or pppd problem?

Yeah, i figured it may be something like that, i tried for a couple
hours playing with INIT strings, couldn't figure out how to verify if
it was working or not(it's an internal modem) the manual is rather
sparse, i have a 180+ page AT modem command manual and by default it
says it is configured to drop, i'll see if i can look into it more maybe
i can figure it out..
