Problem using USR Sporster Flash

Hi,

The problem I have is the following. About a Half of the faxes
I try to send fails depending on the remote fax machine. 
There are remote machines that talk correctly with my Linux box
equipped with mgetty+sendfax and a USR Sporster flash modem. 
Others do not work at all. I get very often the error messages
"No response to EOP repeated 3 times"  and  "No response to MPS 
repeated 3 times". 
May be my question is a newbie one. However before posting, I 
updated the modem firmware and followed the FAQ about Sporster
and recompiled several times the software. But noting.
