Make sure that the linux box can resolve the IP address of the windows box
to the "right" host name - if you don't have a DNS server, add the windows
box to the /etc/hosts file on the Linux machine, if you do use DNS, add
the windows box to that.

Maybe add the windows machine with and without the domain name to
hosts.lpd.
