Ok, a DIAL TONE during playing / recording is probably something quite
unfrequent (although it could happen here in Switzerland a few years ago:
when a call was disconnected, you didn't get BUSY but a DIAL TONE).

But now, ignoring a BUSY looks something completely unreliable. Because
the next problem will be:  how do I not record all those busy signals ?

The modem must be either configured correctly (detection thresholds), or
its firmware fixed.
