mgetty and PPP under Sun Solaris 2.3

mgetty should work on Solaris 2.x just fine (I didn't try it myself
yet, but I received success reports).

In what way is this port monitor needed for PPP? If it is just SVR4's
"ttymon", you can replace it with mgetty, and PPP should be fine.

For dialout, you must make sure that PPPD will do proper device locking,
dunno whether Sun got this right.
