gs and dvips

Sorry for getting more and more off topic, but as "it was
mentioned 20 times on the list", many semm to share the problem.
I just wanted to say that I haven't experienced any of the
described behaviour using dvipsk 5.58a together with
Aladdin Ghostscript 3.51 (1995-9-27).
Should I still get an older version of dvips?
