Voice modem recommendations

  I'm looking for an inexpensive modem to use with mgetty+sendfax+vgetty on my 

NeXT box.   I want to use it as an answering machine and to send and recieve  
the occasional fax over one line/phone number.

I'm looking at the new USR Sportster Vi 14.4 which supports class 2.0 fax and  
voice and am wondering how easy/likely it is to use it with mgetty/vgetty.  I'm  
willing to have a go at the driver, but the technical documentation on  
ftp.usr.com is pretty sparse and mentions only the voice #CLS= and #VRX, #VXT  
commands (or is that a typo for #VTX?). 


Before I go buy one to try, I'd appreciate some advice on whether it will even  
be possible, or if there might be another inexpensive 14.4 voice modem (I don't  
need data capability; just fax and voice).
