manually phone pick up with vgetty

Hi.

I am running vgetty 0.23 with a Cre*tix LC 1440 VF modem.
Almost everything works just fine.
I've got only one phone line for both the telephone and the modem and
I am looking for a possibility to make vgetty pick up the line, when
there is a fax call and I picked up the phone myself.

In the documentation I found the following section:

> It is possible to tell mgetty to answer the phone even if it is not
> ringing (I call this ``virtual rings''). Just send mgetty a signal
> @code{SIGUSR1}, this is usually done with @samp{kill -USR1
> @var{<mgetty-pid>}}. Mgetty will then pick up the phone and try to make a
> connection.

This works quite well with mgetty, but not with vgetty.
It picks up the phone, sends the greeting message and then starts recording
an empty voice message. Recording seems to stop when I put down the
receiver (of the telephone).

Is this a known bug of vgetty or do I have to adjust something in the
configuration? Will it work with the new vgetty version?

Thank you for your help.
Tim.
