Hi!

This AutoPPP feature does not work for me!


Recomiled mgetty with -DAUTOPPP

login.config:
/AutoPPP/   -   a_ppp /usr/sbin/pppd auth -chap +pap login modem crtscts lock

My win95 users are not able to login using "Dialup networking"

/var/log/messages: (modified..)
pppd 2.2.0 started by userx, uid 512
Using interface ppp2
Connect: ppp2 <--> /dev/ttyS0
local  IP address 10.0.0.1
remote IP address 10.0.0.21
LCP terminated on peer request   <---- this line worries me...!!
Hangup (SIGHUP)
Modem hangup
Connection terminated.
Exit.

The win95 machine says:
"Could not setup a compatible protocol to server.
 Check Your options in setup->network->server"
(In swedish, dont know the exakt translation..)


Tried to:
- delete /etc/ppp/pap-secrets

- put this in pap-secrets:
  userx   -   ""
or
  -       -   -
or
  *       *   *
and so on.....

- call pppd with: auth -chap +pap +ua pap-file
  where pap-file looks like:
  userx  pppbox   userspasswd

But nothing helps!
Always the same result!

Any hints would be Very welcome!

I have read all FAQ's, man-pages, www-pages and HOWTO's I
have found.. But nowhere is my problem mentioned.
They just say: "do this and do that, and it will work"
BUT NO! Not a word about "toubleshooting"...
