merging fax pages

    Hi,
    i want to merge two fax pages but not in the way g3cat does (one after
    the other. The result should look like this:

      +--------+    +--------+       +--------+
      | aa     |    |      bb|       | aa   bb|
      | aa     |  + |      bb|   =>  | aa   bb|
      |        |    |   bbb  |       |   bbb  |
      |        |    |        |       |        |
      +--------+    +--------+       +--------+

    Anyone understood what i mean ?

If you convert the g3 rasters to pbm rasters, then there is a tool in
the pbmplus or netpbm packages that will OR the 2 bitmaps together,
after which you can convert the result back to g3.
