Hello Marc,
I tryed the new release on my linux 2.0.26 box + an USR 14.4 voice external
And it seems much more stable! Now it plays the greeting and receives the
messages very reliably. Also sending faxes works without a hits
BUT for some reason it still can not switch to fax mode when answering ?
here's a log file

At any rate what I would like to do is to receive 2 sets of numbers sent
as touch tones and then receive a fax. (to get an user ID and a
destination number)
So guessing what the user will do is not a problem. Now, could vgetty be
configures for such a string of events ? i.e.
wait for a set of touchtones
record them
wait for a second string of touch tones
record them
receive a fax
And finally would it be possible to do this reliably with an USR ? (I'm
having a lot of trouble finding a ZyXel)
Thanks for the info,
Jaime
