phone/fax switch

Hi,

i have a problem connecting to a fax machine behind a phone/fax
switch.  I have tested two modems, one works, mine doesnt. :-(

When my modem connects, i can hear the voice of the phone/fax switch
and a few seconds after that the modem hangs up with a busy. 
Using the other modem a can send the fax without a problem and i
doesn't hear the voice of the phone/fax switch.

My modem is an older one, I do not know the type of manufacture, maybe
the applied logs can give you some information:
