well, how do you launch vm ?  If it's from vgetty as a shell script,
then, add the commands afterwards. I am a little puzzled by your
question.

mvm (an instance of a vm script in vgetty) can output the recorded
message to the /dev/audio (that's one of the example menus).

Or send it by mail in audio/basic (another example) using
adds_on/notify/
