Does this modem and mgetty(Linux) support called ID ?

I'm not sure, but your modem manual should tell you.

I think the main problem is that "German Caller ID" (CLIP) is something
completely different from what the US and UK modems do. I haven't been
able to find out exactly *what* CLIP is, but it's different.
I know that the USR modems support US Caller ID, but for CLIP, you really
have to ask whoever sold you that modem - that's HIS task. He got money,
he has got to do the work.
