I tried the following :-

shell>wavtopvf -8 welcome.wav welcome.pvf

shell>pvffile welcome.pvf
welcome.pvf: PVF1 (binary)
channels: 1
sample speed: 8000
bits per sample: 8

shell>pvftormd US_Robotics 1 welcome.pvf welcome.rmd

shell>rmdfile welcome.rmd
shell>rmdfile welcome.rmd
welcome.rmd: RMD1
modem type is: "US Robotics"
compression method: 0x0001
sample speed: 8000
bits per sample: 1

???

Still no clues

Steve
