I am using a Zyxel TA-128-U here in the States. It is an external
termainal adapter with 2 serial ports and 2 analog RJ-11 ports. This
way, it can handle converting analog calls and handing them off to the
analog RJ-11 jacks, where I have a conventionat POTS analog modem
connected on one RJ-11 and a voice telephone unit on the other RJ-11.
This TA can run 2 B-channels together thru a single serial port for
MPP 128 KBPS ISDN access, or it can run 2 B-channels to 2 seperate
numbers, sending one B-channel to one serial port, and the other
B-channel to the other serial port. It can also run 1 B-channel ISDN
data and the other B-channel thru the analog RJ-11 jack. It is quite
a versatile box.
The only thing it does not do is permit callers on analog 56 KBPS
modems to call in and connect at that high speed. To do this, you
need a USR Courried I-Modem.
