I don't think so. Newer versions have many more bells and whistles, but
the lowest level fax stuff hasn't change much. I don't think newer
versions are more reliable on sending (they are a bit upon reception).

These are most likely line conditions / modem timing problems. I am also
not able to reliably fax to Australia from here, and I usually use the
very latest sendfax release...

Well, the "failure transmitting" I don't understand, but I assume that
the maximum number of retries was reached (does your version already do
retries? Can't remember). The +FPTS:2 code means that the receiving end
requested the page to be sent again.
