Just as a reminder: the language in this mailing list and newsgroup is

Then, to answer your question: I don't have any experiences with the
Twincom modems, but I'd try "mgetty -D", and if that works, I'd check
with the manufacturer whether they have a ROM update that makes "adaptive
answering" work. (If it *doesn't* work, I'd check with the mfr as well)
