g3view is a utility for quickly previewing g3 fax files in an X Window.

A new version has just been posted to alt.sources and is also
available via anonymous ftp from ftp.leo.org in
/pub/comp/networking/communication/modem/mgetty/

You will need an ANSI-C compiler on a unix machine running the X
window system to use it.

I wrote it to view faxes received by a fax modem with mgetty.  Each
fax page is stored as raw data in a separate file, and g3view's job is
to display the contents as quickly as possible (less than a second on
a Sparc 10).  Rotation and power-of-2 scaling are included, but g3view
is not intended to compete with image processing and display
combinations like pbmplus and xv.

Version 1.8 fixes various problems (see ChangeLog), in particular the
byte-order problem with zoomed images on little-endian hosts.  It also
allows scrolling through a list of fax pages.
