Hmmm. On Linux, I *know* that the TIOCMBIC system call works fine, or at
least, works fine for "standard serial devices". Does that error message
happen *every time*, or only occasionally?
Please provide a log file with "-x6" (two calls, one with the error
message, one without), maybe it gives some clues.
