So, does adding &K3 change anything or not? What kind of Modem is this,

Sure it is, this is what you do with #define DATA_FLOW FLOW_HARD.

Data! Operating system, version, serial port type (normal, multiport),
modem type, logfiles of failed attempts, etc.
