Without knowing your operating system, a copy of someone else's inittab
does not make much sense.
My version, for SCO, looks like this:
$ grep mgetty /etc/inittab
c11:2:off:/u/gert/mgetty/mgetty -x 6 tty11 sc_m
F0:23:off:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty1a sc_m
F1:23:off:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty2a
F2:23:off:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty3a
F3:23:off:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty -r -s 9600 -x 4 tty4a
F4:23:off:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty -S /etc/golfer.dfx tty4b
F5:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty.test tty4c
F6:23:off:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty4d
F7:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty5a
F8:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty5b
F9:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty tty5c
g1:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty.test -n 2 tty5d
#g1:23:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/mgetty.cback tty5d
but unless you also have a SCO Unix system with the same serial cards and
the same weird program setup that I have, that's pretty useless to you.
(Did you notice the example in the mgetty documentation, btw?)
