mgetty 1.1.9 and Supra FaxModem 28.8

I have an older supra 288 that has always worked for me just fine. I bought
a newer one (336 after dimond took over) and sent it back and also the one
that replaced it as not reliable. I couldn't get reliable CID which for me
meant I couldn't use it as I had Binkley set up to answer on NMBR= instead
of RING. (binkley wouldn't answer after n rings) This meant that bink
wouldn't answer much. I got very little help from supra when I bugged them
about it and assumed they didn't want my bussiness anymore. So I bought a
Zoltrix 336 (with class 2 fax even) instead which worked. I have found that
the racal modems seem to be quite good too, but I won't be buying any more
supra modems. I have never had a problem with my older supra 288. You might
try going back to the older 288 firmware. I have used it with various
versions of mgetty.
