mgetty uses wrong logfile

Hi,

though I do have configured mgetty in policy.h to use /var/log for
logfiles 

#define LOG_PATH "/var/log/log_mg.%s"

it still logs to /tmp/log_mg.ttyS0. I runs on Linux. What can I check
now ?
