Yes, those are the ones created by "pbmtext | pbmtog3".

"g3cat" *should* correct this, while loudly complaining about "incorrect
line width", but the way it does this (a 0-width black line, then white up
to 1728 pixels) seems to make some receivers unhappy.

Some others have reported problems with that (page borders have the wrong
width, etc.).  Does "-sPAPERSIZE=a4" instead of "-g..." help?

Which ghostscript version did you use?
