: Please do so, if you need this.
:
: Vgetty allowed to set the number of rings to 1 for quite a while, but
: after I got twenty or so complains, that vgetty dosen't work (because
: the users had caller id and set rings to 1), I decided to allow only
: 2 or more rings. I have to maintain vgetty in my free time and it
: didn't help to write, that you need at least rings set to 2. Users
: set rings to 1 and complained. I was tired of this, it just costs me
: time, so I decided to force a minimum of 2 rings.

:-( I can understand you in this case. But I still maintain the
idea that setting number of rings to 1 should be possible without
recompilation the sources. Maybe the "I_really_want_one_ring_only no"
option with an appropriate amount of warning comment around it? :-)

I think the mgetty have the same problem and it allows you
to set number of rings to 1.

Well, to end this debate: I can edit the sources, but please
add me to the list of people wanting this check to be removed.

	Cheers,

-Yenya

Considering exactly how many truly stupid things the BSD guys have done it
continually makes me surprised how many people still consider their ideas
good without thinking too much about them. --Linus on BSD securelevels
