g32pbm -l Page Spillover

Hello

I have been using g32pbm with the -l parameter to spool G3
images directly to an HP Deskjet 500. No matter what dpi
resolution I use, most FAXes spill over just a line or two
to a second page ... a pain in the patoot.

I've done little poking around policy.h, but don't see where
I can adjust the output page length, or max vertical pixel
range. Have I missed something in the dark here (I'm a
newbie) ... or is this a bit obscure to deal with?
