problem sending faxes

hello

i have a problem sending faxes over mgetty+sendfax.
if i send a page with sendfax it worksd fine, but else
(more than 1 page) dont work. It hangs up when it finished
sending the first page.

If any1 can help me with my problem it would be great:

i have a usr sportster 28800 class 2 modem, 
mgetty 1.1.19 (janary 1998 test release)
newest kernel
slackware
