Error Receiving Fax (AutoPPP works great)

Hi there,

A new user. Followed AUTOPPP doc I got off the web to allow PPP dial in from
windows 95. Works perfectly. Problems receiving faxes though. Tries to
connect then constant beep until timeout.

Any ideas? Running Linux 2.0.30 (Slackware 3.4) and it a USR Sportster
28800. The mgetty was ver 1.0.

I think it'll be something to do with the ini string to the modem. Tried the
default given in policy.h and the one from AUTOPPP. Same effect each time.

I've tried faxing from both a fax machine and a windows modem.

PS. I can't get a decent log file. The log *.ttyS1 contains minimal
information.
