Hmmm, until now, not. Since just now, yes :-) -- seems that SunOS has
the same problem.

mgetty checks the DSR line everywhere, because (I admit) I'm too lazy to
always track which platforms are broken in this respect and which aren't.
Not checking on a platform that *does* have the signal (Solaris 2.7? who
knows?) would be worse, IMHO, than a false alert on a platform that is
known to have a broken serial driver.

Hmm, yes, the check was added "recently", I think somewhere in the early
1.1 versions.

Not your fault, kick sun :)
[unless you haven't configured the modem to "always enable DSR", I think
that's done with AT&S0 or AT&S1, in which case it's "kick yourself" :) ]
