Hallo,

sorry for my first posting in german, once again, this time in
English.

I have installed mgetty for fax sending and receiving last week. I do
have some trouble and I would like to ask for help.

My modem is an older one (14.4, noname), I do use it over ISDN with
and a/b switch between modem and ISDN.

I can send and receive faxes, so my main configuration should be ok.

But:

- I can't send a fax to a friend, he is using fax and phone on one
analog line, switching between them via a switch (sorry, i don't know
the exact name). This switch ask something like "Switch. Say telephone
for phone or be quiet for fax". The part with saying telephone works
fine, the fax part don't. I can hear the Guardtone of the modem until
the other side says "switch", then my modem disconnects with "Busy".

- I do have a similar problem with another fax-number, this fax says
"Please hold the line". This time mgetty starts faxing (i am sure I
can here the carriertone from the other fax), but the other side
disconnects a few seconds later without receiving the fax.

I am familar with linux, but i am absolutely not familar with modems.
I tried nearly all AT-Sequences, i found in the handbook of my modem,
but it doesn't help.

Many thanks for help
