Actually it's the wrong place, but I don't know what to recommend either
(basically its your ISPs job to support his customers).

Well, this is nonsense. Sure, you can go faster *to* the router -- but
ISDN is 128Kbit max, regardless of the device you use to access it, and
regardless of the access speed to access the "device". 

An ISDN Router is most likely easier to set up and maintain, and poses
less load on the machine. This is a reason why I usually recommend
standalone ethernet routers instead of modems for ISP access, but *speed*
is *not* an issue.

Dunno how to configure the Prestige.

The linux end is easy:

 a: plug in an ethernet card and build a kernel that supports it
 b: set it up for IP connectivity, make sure you can "ping" the
  ZyXEL router (for details, see the "Linux Network Administrators
  Guide" or similar manuals)
 c: point a default route at the router (something along the lines
  of "route add default <router-ip>").

That's it -- no need to set up PPP (the router will do that) etc.
