AT+FCLASS=2.0 error?

*From the log file, you can see that it started FAX transmission, and
immediately failed -- this modem appears to be *really* cheap (no proper

It's an internal error, meaning "something went completely wrong, in an
unexpected way".

E-Tech Bullet modems are *known* to be *junk*.

This should be something numerically... or *at least* something that
*identifies* this type of modem.

This is ok - it means "we tried class 2.0, it doesn't work, so try class 2
next".

Then the modem just aborted negotiation with a fax error code (+FHNG), 
without even *telling* the host that it went to fax mode... mgetty doesn't
really expect this, so it will give a negative error number.
