Hi,
I am running the HylaFAX Software on AIX using some PP Modems. Never for
receive though, because they are not very good modems from a reliablity
perspective.
When the HylaFAX software was being written ( Called FlexFAX, back then ),
this problem was encountered. I have been on the "beta" list of HylaFAX
for years, & remember the problem.
What ended up happening is that Sam Leffler ( the author of HylaFAX ) put in
an command in the config files called
Class2DDISCmd: AT+FDIS # enable workaround for broken +FDIS
By my failing memory, the problem has something to do with resolution changes
negotiated AFTER the modem has dialed. PP modems are not able to re-set the
resolution AFTER they have dialed. The resolution can only be set prior to
dialing the modem.
I may be off base a bit on this, & if this is new information to Gert/the
list, I can look into the source of HylaFAX & see exactly what is going on.
Let me know,
