Regarding the continuing saga of coaxing a Practical Peripherals PM288MT II
V.34 modem to receive fine resolution FAXes, I followed the advice of Steve
Williams and tried using an AT+FDIS command in the modem initialization string.
I put it in the "init-chat" section of the mgetty.config file like this:

 # This initialization sequence is copied from mgetty's default, with the
 # addition of "AT+FDIS OK" at the end to work around a problem with the
 # PM288MT II V.34 modem receiving fine resolution FAXes.

 init-chat "" \
	\dATQ0V1H0 OK \
  ATZ OK \
  AT+FCLASS=2 OK \
  AT+FAA=1;+FCR=1 OK \
  AT+FBOR=0 OK \
  AT+FLID="\"(972) 442-2417\"" OK \
  AT+FDCC=1,5,0,2,0,0,0,0 OK \
  AT+FDIS OK

Up until the AT+FDIS, the modem was happy. Then,

	...
	05/24 08:15:00 dem send: AT+FDIS[0d]
	05/24 08:15:00 dem waiting for ``OK''
	05/24 08:15:00 dem found action string: ``ERROR''
	...

is reported in the mgetty log.

Any suggestions?
