I like your Idea! It sounds very easy! I'll test this! :)

Only a view points are left, but for many people the idea would be useful!

The point I'm not so happy about with this is: Security. How to avoid
people reading your private faxes. Ok, you have .htaccess - but after
that?

So you must be sure, there are no confidential/private faxes in
the directory.
