dialing out with vm

Hi,

 Is there anybody who successfully used "DIAL" command
of the vgetty shell interface ? I mean dialing out and
then start menu dialog with human.
 Main problem for me is poor ringback detection of my
Zyxel1496e+ rom 6.17. It sometimes correctly reports
RINGING while real ringback, but when I pick up handset
and start to speak something, Zyxel reports RINGING on each
sayed word or near that.
 Is there any parameters in Zyxel to play ? It seems,
silence threshold value do not affect ringback detection 
quality.
 Any thoughts/suggestions ? Are other modems behave
more correctly ? Zyxel 2864 ?
