There has to be someone using an external voice/fax modem in NorthAmerica???

My Diamond SupraExpress 56e Pro works flawlessly as voice, fax, and data
modem... IF and only if I tell mgetty to answer the line as voice, fax,
or data, respectively. Auto-switching does not work at all.

This may be my mistake for the largest part, as I haven't done any
tweaking at all with modem settings, I just used the modem and vgetty
"out of the box". I'm only using it as an aswering machine right now,
and it hasn't failed me once.
