vgetty does not switch to data (but mgetty does!)

This is the _exact_same_ problem that I have with my SupraExpress 56e Pro
(only I didn't try with fax, but the symptoms for an incoming data call are
the same).

I've flashed the modem with a new firmware today; I'll see this afternoon
whether that helped. I'll keep you posted.
