Need help recording outgoing message

Now, for the RIGHT mailing list...

I'm having trouble creating an outgoing message for Vgetty.  I have attempted use Kvoice's drag and drop function to convert a windows wav to a rmd of the proper format, but nonetheless, vgetty won't play it... checking the logs, it claims that it is in the wrong format.

I am using a USR 33.6 V/F/D, and have set Kvoice's options to 'USR', which seems reasonable.

I've also tried to use 'vm' to record a message, with no success.  No matter what combo of flags I feed it, it immediately returns a prompt, without even waiting for input.   Documentation on it is nonexistent.   (IF YOU HAVE SOME, PLEASE SEND!)

This shouldn't be rocket surgery, but it appears so..
