Hi All,
I've got a whole stack of Banksia MyVoice 33.6k (They're MyFastInModem-V34
Revision 34151PA1's really, but that's such an ugly name) modems currently
being used for fax/data connections at my site. As these are voice modems,
and very capable ones from the user documentation, I'd like to set up a nice
voicemail application, rounding off my use of the mgetty+sendfax+vgetty
package..
One problem; Vgetty returns a ton of errors, stating the modem is not a
voice modem, and one further problem has arisen when I was going to try and
manually initialise the modem into voice modem - there's no documentation on
the modem's voice commands! Banksia's website is chockas with fax/data
attention commands, but there's nothing about voice.
Is this some sort of secretive plot to really annoy the hell out off their
customers?
I believe the modems use a rockwell chipset (it's been over a year since
I've seen the poor things, all jammed in this server together). ATI3 returns
"V1.510-V34_DP", I6 returns "RCV288DPi Rev 05BA", if either of those two can
help anyone locate the same chipset within other modems..
I'm not an expert, but I know what annoys me. Did someone decide it would
be better to hide these commands while all over modem manufacturers release
them freely?
If anyone can help, I'd be most grateful.
Thanks,
- Simon
