Well, yes - RCV288DPi is a typical Rockwell data pump. The vendor does
not have to use the Rockwell controller chip, so they are free to
implement any command set they like.

Thanks. What about ATI9?
(Could you just run "mid" on your modem? "mid" is Modem IDentify, can be
found in the mgetty source tree in mgetty/tools/mid, and will check all
ATI commands and some others - just run it as "mid /dev/ttyS1" or wherever
your modem is, and mail me the output).
