That depends on what you mean by "disable" :) They can still dial and talk
but when they hang up the modem will still be holding the line open so it
will be up to the software to listen for the 'h' code and do an ATH to hang
up the line. This assumes that the phone is connected to the phone jack of
the modem and the line is connected to the "line" jack of the modem. If you
don't think this is reliable enough, S30 (inactivity timer) could be set to
have the modem hang up after 30 seconds or so just incase the software
misses the hangup.
FWIW: Acording to the Rockwell command set docs I have, as long as the #VTD=
is set properly it shouldn't be necessary to do an ATA at all in order to
get DTMF tones. That's not to say I've been able to make it work but it
should.
