dialup and extended info,

Hi,
I'm running a dial-in server, with mgetty and the normal
login process (windoze users, run a script), my problem
is I get quite a few attempted logins, with the extended
info, as the username,
eg.
May  9 18:26:24 bara1 login: 2 LOGIN FAILURES ON ttyS2, PROTOCOL:
LAP-M
May  9 18:26:24 bara1 login: 3 LOGIN FAILURES ON ttyS2, PROTOCOL
May  9 18:26:24 bara1 login: 4 LOGIN FAILURES ON ttyS2, CONNECT 

could someone please suggest why this is happening?
and what I may try to stop it?
