Unexpected hangup sending 2nd page

I am setting up a faxserver with mgetty+sendfax. Everything appears to be working with no errors
until 'faxrunq' goes to send the fax. The remote fax always receives the 1st page of the fax, but
not suceeding pages. Faxrunq errors with the following message:
/usr/sbin/sendfax: FAILED to transmit 'f1.g3'
Transmission error: +FHNG:-5 (Unexpected hangup / read() error / write() error (int.))
I am using a USRobotics 56k data/fax sportster, external, connected to ttyS0. Can someone point me
in the right direction for fixing this error? It happens on various remote fax machines, so I know it's
a problem with something I have set up.
