update on zoom 2949

A week after I emailed Zoom's technical support, I got the surprising but
apparently true answer that the zoom 2949 doesn't report callerid because
it doesn't implement callerid (remarkable, because AT#cid=? and #cid? imply
that it would).

It's external, does 56k (rockwell56 and eventually v.90), and voice, and
claims to do class 2 fax, but I'm returning it for lack of callerid.

It turns out that my phone line is so bad that I never get 56k connections
anyway (the same modem hooked up to a POTS jack on an ISDN router does get
38-40k or so), so I'm back to looking for reliable 33k, voice, fax, external.
